Wellcome
Trust Conference Centre, Hinxton, Cambridge
Set
in the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, home to
some of the world's leading genome and bioinformatics
research institutes, this is less science park
than country retreat. Hinxton Hall is an elegant
Grade II*-listed country house set in 55 acres
of parkland on the banks of the river Cam. Since
the Wellcome Trust took over the site in 1992,
the house and estate have been lovingly renovated
and imaginatively adapted for their current
purpose.
We offer a range of flexible
catering options from full silver service dining
to light buffet-style meals, all provided by our
award-winning chefs and friendly and efficient service
team. Continental and full English breakfast is
served to residential delegates. We can provide
a banquet in the marquee, a picnic, barbecue or
hog roast out in the grounds. We'll offer you Pimms
and strawberries, or wine and cheese reception in
sumptuous surroundings. Or we can organize a small
dinner party in a private suite, including selected
wines from our cellar.
ACCOMMODATION
We offer a total of 72 ensuite
bedrooms, including double or twin capability. All
our bedrooms have direct incoming telephone lines
and high-speed ethernet Internet connections. Sixty
of these rooms (three of which have been adapted
for wheelchair access) are in our residential court.
Ten executive bedrooms are in the grade II*-listed
Hinxton Hall itself. These consist of five twin
rooms, four doubles and one single room. There is
a further executive suite available in a self-contained
lodge.
Chilford
Hall Vineyard and Conference Centre is the largest
dedicated events venue in Eastern England and
provides a perfect setting for everything from
